High School Students from Northville CSD visit New York’s most advanced semiconductor research facility at NYCreates in Albany, NY.
This visit was facilitated by Ken Adamczyk and Ron Peters at the Fulton County Center for Regional Growth (CRG). The CRG is the most forward-leaning economic development organization in advancing school-to-workplace development efforts with high school students.
In the Fall of 2023, CRG and the team at NYCREATES provided a tour of their Albany Nanotech Complex to the Senior Students at Northville, as part of their Senior Leadership class. Several Northville educators and administrators joined the students on the tour.
Students participated in a walking tour of the facility which visited both public and sensitive-spaces, while listening how the facility is both at the forefront of semiconductor research and an avenue for successful career paths here in Upstate.
After their visit, the team at NYCEATES hosted a roundtable discussion with a panel of students to field their questions about the facility and the career paths of those who work there.
This content is in the process of being woven into a classroom lesson plan on Expertise Online- but please enjoy a glimpse of this student work.
Special thanks for the leadership at Northville, CRG, and NYCREATES for the privilege of helping their teams document this student experience.
